1.) How do I know if my dough has proofed long enough and is ready to roll out?

Answer: You are looking for your dough to have doubled in size before moving on to the next step and rolling it out.  In this recipe we are using rapid rise yeast, so the dough only needs to go through one rise. When you poke the dough it should slowly spring back and fill in the hole that you poked when it is ready.

2.) If I don't have a stand mixer how do I mix the dough for this recipe?

Answer: If you don't have a stand mixer, don't worry! You can easily make this dough by hand. Follow the directions up until it says to put the dough in a bowl of a stand mixer. With all of the dough ingredients in a medium bowl knead them together with your hands until they form a cohesive ball. lightly dust your cutting board with a little bit of flour and turn the dough out onto the surface. Take the dough in your hands and push down on it with the palms of your hands while moving it in a forward motion. Turn the dough and repeat this motion several times until the dough is smooth and shiny. This process is called kneading. The stand mixer does this process with the dough hook, but it is often done by hand in order to feel the texture of the dough. Once your dough is smooth and shiny spray your stainless bowl lightly with cooking spray and cover it with plastic wrap to proof.

3.) How do I prevent dents in my dough when rolling it out with my rolling pin.

Answer: When rolling out dough, the best  method is to move your rolling pin in a north, south, east, west direction. Starting in the middle of your dough, using your rolling pin, roll in an upward motion, with even pressure, in a north direction. Repeat this movement, but this time roll down toward the south. Then take your pin and roll to the east. Next roll to the west. Repeat these rolling movements in each direction until the dough is a nice rectangle about 20 inches long and 12 inches wide.

4.) Do I have to pour all of the bananas foster sauce on top of my baked buns?

Answer: The bananas foster sauce is rich and delicious. However, you can pour as much or as little of the sauce on top as you like. You can also plate each bun individually and top it with the sauce. Extra bananas foster sauce is delicious on top of vanilla ice cream!

5.) How do I care for my wooden rolling pin?

Answer: Wooden rolling pins are a great tool. They should be washed by hand with warm soapy water and left out to dry completely before being stored. Wooden tools should not be put in the dishwasher.
