FAQs

Questions and answers will be added here. Have a question? Email BEL@bakeeatlovebox.com

1.) What is the oven proofing method?

Answer: Check out our article on how to oven proof!

2.) What should my dough look like when it is ready to roll out?

Answer: You are looking for your dough to have doubled in size before moving on to the next step and rolling it out. In this recipe we are using rapid rise yeast, so the dough only needs to go through one rise. When you poke the dough, it should slowly spring back and fill in the hole that you poked when it is ready. See the below photo for reference.

3.) What are some good pizza topping combinations?

Answer: The best pizza topping combinations come down to personal preference. Your favorite veggies and meats can be put together to create some fun flavor combinations. You can also play around with using different kinds of cheeses to add different flavors. Below is a list of common pizza toppings and a few tasty combinations:)

Toppings: Sausage, pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, spinach, ham, pineapple, artichokes, tomatoes, basil and other fresh herbs.

Cheeses: Mozzarella, cheddar cheese, goat cheese, gouda cheese, parmesan cheese, blue cheese crumbles, feta cheese, provolone cheese.

Cheeseburger: Cooked ground beef, onions, chopped pickles, cheddar cheese.

BBQ Chicken: Cooked shredded chicken, bbq sauce, red onion, cheddar cheese.

Potato & Pesto: Sliced and roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, mozzarella & parmesan cheese (spread some of the pesto cheese sauce inside the pizza roll)!

Hawaiian: Ham, pineapple, mozzarella cheese.

Veggie Lover: Spinach, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, bell peppers, goat cheese.

*When adding toppings to your pizza keep in mind that all proteins should be cooked, and vegetables that release a lot of water like mushrooms should be cooked before adding as a topping to prevent your pizza spiral from getting soggy. Cooking toppings before adding them on your pizza can also help enhance the flavor!

4.) What is the best way to re-heat the pizza spirals?

Answer: Place pizza spirals on a microwave safe plate and heat for 1-2 minutes (or until heated through). The sauces can also be placed in heat safe dishes and microwaved until they reach the desired temperature. Be sure to stir the cheese sauces as you are heating them to prevent scorching. The pizza spirals can also be re-heated in the oven. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees, place a piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet and put your pizza spirals on the baking sheet. After the oven has pre-heated place the spirals in the oven and heat for 10-15 minutes (or until heated through).
