Best Practices

Frost layer one evenly. Be sure that you have a thin and even layer of frosting on your cupcakes before dipping them in crushed graham crackers. Areas without frosting can cause the graham cracker layer to have bare spots.

My frosting is spreading too much, help! Did you know butter has an ideal room temperature of 65 degrees? In the heat of summer, butter sitting out can get warmer than that. The warmer butter gets, the more it starts to act like a liquid. If your frosting is spreading too much, you may have trouble getting a vertical fire. To bring the butter temperature back down and firm up your frosting, place the piping bag in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.

Draw four lines of food coloring. Carefully use a toothpick or small spoon to drag red food coloring down the inside of the piping bag. You should have 3-4 straight red lines down your bag. You don't need to use all of the food coloring!

Break the pretzels if needed. When you place the pretzels over the frosting you may need to break them into smaller pieces so they lay across evenly.
